A young peasant girl from the Vendée

The drawing represents an interior with a maid or the daughter of a farmer from the French Vendée region, more precisely from Les Sables-d’Olonne, a seaside town by the Atlantic Ocean. Very few details of the interior are given: a staircase to the right, and possibly a lamp behind her.
